@kimonostereo Chiming to say I spent almost two hours in a password-reset loop with iCloud across an M2 MacBook Air, a 12.9 inch iPad Pro, an Intel Mac Mini, an iPhone 14 Pro, and an Apple Watch…

    @jsonbecker So it is, thanks!

@jsonbecker I’m breaking into this great conversation to ask how I can view my Mb timeline in Reeder or another RSS app. Can someone tell me where that feed is?

@pips It’s great place, with great people. It’s such an oasis of decent human beings that, I admit, it may occasionally give you Truman Show vibes.

    Kidding!

Turns out that people who like to make stuff and are willing to pay a few bucks to use cool things made bu other people who like to make stuff are fun to hang out with. 🤓

@jarrod What are your thoughts on Matter? I’ve settled on it for now, though I’m giving Instapaper another look given the update.

@indw Just wanted to chime in and say I do something similar by importing my Letterboxd feed to MB. When I post a review to my Letterboxd account, it gets copied to my blog.

    So this:

    End up as this:

@vincent Just want to say that I love Tinylytics, and I love when omg.lol and Micro.blog communities come together!

@jarrod that’s fair. I was so sure “skeets” was a joke when I first signed up on Bluesky that when I realized it wasn’t I had one of those moments of “Wait, am I the old man about to yell at the clouds?!?!”

  • Replying to: jb.heydingus.net

@jarrod Agree. Why is it so controversial that we should be calling the stuff we post “posts?”

@vincent It’s always exciting. Sometimes I have the opposite feeling when I deactivate “auto-renew” on something I never got off the ground, or has just run its natural course and must be let go into the great Domain Marketplace in the Sky.

@jarrod you think my idea stinks, huh, that it has an unpleasant… musk… about it? 😶

  • Replying to: jb.heydingus.net

@jarrod I saw that Stephen Hacket piece and I was wondering... is Threads vs. Dying Twitter actually the cage match they were talking about? Because that would make a lot of sense.

@manton Thanks! I’m looking at this now and giving it a shot.

@val @val Unless things get much worse in the morning, you should be able to see some sights, as long as you’re pretty close… but seriously, bring an N95/KN95, give yourself a time likit, one or two hours, and consult this page in the morning to get a good idea of what to expect for the day. Today was better than yesteday, so hopefully it’ll work out for you, even if it’s not ideal circumstances.

@Mtt if you have a read.cv account, I think you can create a posts.cv account.

@maique 😆 I have a 1yo and a 3yo and the only plot twist is when neither has a runny nose / ear infection / etc.

@inthedeltawaves You’re missing a lot! One way I think of it is a modular web presence. The screenshot I attached here lists all the services. I think if any one or two of the services is useful for you, $20/year is a great price. The thoughtfully moderated Mastodon server alone is worth that price.

@manton I noticed the IFTTT incompatibility because I’m trying to replace all my Instapaper workflows with MB bookmarking, then I tested in NNW to see if it was just an IFTTT thing. Of course, I probably shouldn’t be so dependent on IFTTT, but I would love an RSS option.

  • Replying to: @manton

@manton So I realize I’m a little late to this conversation, but it seems like a decent place to mention that I can’t add the bookmarks feed to a FreshRSS or a Feedly account in NetNewsWire, Reeder or Unread, or get it to work with IFTTT, but it works fine in NetNewsWire via iCloud sync.

@joeross While I’m at it, I’m also testing replies/conversation includes on single post pages.

@manton Idk, it looks awfully small to not need a nearby/paired cell phone. To fit a modem, enough battery to make it useful, & SOC/storage?

The Trekkie in me wants it to be real, but the cynic in me wonders how it works w/o a belt-mounted unit doing everything but projection & audio.
